I am passionate about helping partners to grow their relationships into what they have always wanted them to be. Life can feel overwhelming and frustrating when we don’t feel valued in our relationships or cannot show up as ourselves. The isolation, anxiety, and complications that we are dealing with in 2023 bring up many difficult issues. Working together to make positive and lasting changes to our relationships can result in feelings of connection, intimacy, and even increased functioning in our professional, academic, and home lives.

Relationships are difficult. While our brains are “wired” for connections with others, we protect ourselves from pain, which keeps us from having the relationships that we want. The gap between expectations and reality is the very definition of stress, and our relationships are usually the first casualty of stress. This is normal.
I want to thank you for allowing me to be a part of this process for you and your partner. I know that when first entering treatment, you may feel exposed and vulnerable. I am privileged to be a part of this work and assist you in this growth.

It is heartbreaking when we're disconnected from our partners.

Often we are longing for more but unsure of how to feel connected anymore. In the heat of an argument, we may jump to expressing our reactive emotions and behaviors and push one another away. We want to be close but struggle with how to get there. These repeated events can further drive our disconnection, in a way that could leave each partner feeling misunderstood.

I believe that at the core, many of us long to be accepted, loved, comforted, and understood (among other things) by our partners. By putting in the work to slow down and explore what you are each feeling on a primary, vulnerable level, you can increase your understanding of your partner in a deeper way, which not only creates a stronger bond but a more fulfilling relationship. I will embrace the chance to guide you through resolving your conflict and enhance your relationship. You can learn and apply skills to reconnect with one another, and as your clinician, I am on your side and ready to coach you in this direction!

Distress in a relationship can often feel all-consuming. Relationships are such a significant and integral part of our lives, that when they become jagged and serrated they tend to knock us off our balance. I believe healing does not exist in solitude, but that we need others to help us heal. In the same vein, relational healing does not exist in a vacuum, and profound growth arrives when both partners are willing to do the work. Taking this first step is a scary one, so I commend you for making it this far. It is okay to be wary of the future. Together, we will put one foot in front of the other and do the work to accomplish the goals you desire to achieve.
