Deidre A. Prewitt, MS, LPC,
Owner of Reconnecting Columbus
I am passionate about helping relationships in distress heal. I specialize in working with high-conflict couples and infidelity/affair recovery because I do not believe any relationship is a lost cause--if the couple is willing to work for it.
Admittedly, providing marriage/relationship therapy is challenging, but oh, so rewarding! When I get up in the morning I am genuinely excited about the healing I may witness.
I opened Reconnecting Columbus, LLC because I realized the need for qualified, specialized marriage/relationship counseling in Columbus, Ohio.
Soon I found that families and individuals also needed support in improving their lives and relationships so I expanded the practice to accommodate those needs too.
We have expanded the practice to include other highly-qualified, passionate, and effective therapists to assist you in creating the life you want.
Take a look at their profiles and specialties below.
Successful couples are committed to one another and the process; even if it takes some time to get to that commitment. Over the course of your relatively short time in counseling you may see small steps culminate into the big changes you may have needed for years. Many couples even forget how difficult it was for them when they walked through the door for the first time.
Guiding hurting couples along the road of healing toward their relationship dreams is delicate work. As we move along the journey you may find the negative perspective of one another starts to soften and, over time the whole relationship starts to turn around.
You may start to see one another as teammates instead of enemies. You may find that your conflict becomes opportunity to connect and get to know one another better.

My passion is relationships of all kinds. Yes, it can be difficult, it can be sticky, yet being present and
witness partners rebuild and reignite their dedication is incredibly fulfilling and why I adore what I do.
I have worked with many different types of relationships through the years. I strive to make my therapy room a welcome and inclusive place for all. I have worked with polyamorous, lesbian, gay, trans*, non-monogamy, gender non-conforming, kink, and BDSM relationships.
I love it so much I started pursing additional training in sex and alternate relationships.
What is fantastic about continuing to grow and learn is that it supports me in supporting you. I will
always endeavor to meet my clients where they are at, which is why I push myself as a clinician to continue to learn and grow.
I want to serve and provide treatment with the best possible outcomes for
each of their unique and individual stories.

I strongly believe that everyone desires to be happy and free of the emotional barriers that continue to hold them hostage. My job isn't always easy, but it's always interesting. Additionally, the work is extremely rewarding.
My clients let me into the most secret, most painful parts of their lives. Often, I am the only one that knows their story and they feel relieved just to have gotten something off their chest with an objective person listening in a non-judgmental way.
People often need validation and empathy in order to fully heal. This is something that I'm able to provide as individuals continue their journey of self-awareness, growth, and healing.
I provide a safe, confidential, and nonjudgmental environment to assist individuals in understanding how events in their life shape them and I provide critical tools that enable them to take the important steps necessary to achieve their goals. I work to empower my clients and encourage them to combat their issues and to seek balance in life. I assist my client's in investigating the relationship between their thoughts, feelings and behaviors. There is no single plan that works for everyone. I tailor my services to meet your needs. It's about real recovery not just a one-size-fits-all treatment plan. I work with individuals to help them learn how to manage life's stressful situations in healthier ways.
